General Intercessions

Sixth Sunday of Ordered Time
February 16, 2025

Presider: We are called to live by the Love God extends to each. As a Father loves his Children and a Mother nurtures her children, so God holds us written on the palms of his hands. With confidence, let us offer God our needs and anxieties.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, Hear our prayer”

1.That Pope Francis, Bishop Luis, clergy, religious, lay leadership, and catechists serve, teach, and work to make the faithful aware of God’s unconditional love, we pray...

2. That trusting in God’s mercy and love, Christians take to heart the Beatitudes as the guide for walking in the Way of the Christ, we pray...

3. That Christians gathered in this worshipping community reject the idols worshiped by the way of the world, we pray...

4. That the rich, share their excess with people struggling for survival; that those seeking satisfaction by accumulations and consumption work to achieve justice for the hungry; that those whose material desires are satisfied commit to working for the comfort of the suffering and grieving, we pray...

5. That preachers, teachers, professionals serving communities with safety, dignity, and charity, and those men and women serving in the military cherish the Lord’s beatitudes in their personal and work lives, we pray...

6. That each person increases their trust and faith in God’s loving kindness and witness that trust to friends, acquaintances, and everyone encountered, we pray...

7. That our institutional church manifest in work and in relationships with creation that God is our Father, Jesus is our brother, and the Spirit is the love and giver of life inspiring us to respect and care for others, we pray...

8. That those who died this past week (list here) and those approaching death’s doorway to eternity are encouraged by faith and welcomed by Jesus. That the intention of this Mass, (list here) _________ is (are) remembered in our prayers, we pray...

9. Let us lift to God our personal needs and concerns of hand, mind, and heart: (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with the financial gifts we offer for the needy of our community, we pray...

Presider: Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your Kingdom. To you our God, eternally blessed be glory and praise for ever.

Response: Amen.
