Acts 6: 1-7; Psalm
33; 5th SUNDAY OF EASTER (A)April 26, 2026 By: Jude Siciliano, OPMini-reflections on the Sunday scripture readings designed for persons on the run. “Faith Book” is also brief enough to be posted in the Sunday parish bulletins people take home. From today’s Gospel reading:
Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
Reflection:
In this tender moment, Jesus speaks to disciples whose hearts are anxious about the future. He invites them to trust – trust in God and trust in him – even when the road ahead is uncertain. His promise of “many dwelling places” assures us that we belong to God and that our lives are moving toward a home prepared with love.
So, we ask ourselves:
· What worries or fears trouble my heart right now, and how can I place them more fully in Jesus’ care? · How does the promise of a place prepared for me by Christ strengthen my hope in difficult times? · In what ways can I help others feel that they have a place and a home within our parish community?
