 General Intercessions

Dedication of Lateran Basilica

November 9 2025

Presider: Mindful that we are living stones that shelter and support the hearts and minds and bodies of humanity, we offer to the Lord our concerns and anxieties, with confidence God will hear us.

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, Hear our prayer”

1.That Pope Leo and Bishop _____  , create an atmosphere of welcome and invitation inviting each person to participate in the living Church, we pray...

2. That parish leadership consciously create an environment of welcome and encouragement for active participation in liturgy and our parish’s out-reach, we pray...

3. That those who lost their lives in contradiction of God’s justice, the unborn, prisoners executed, casualties of war, those who died because of deprivation, domestic violence and abuse; are welcomed in the Kingdom of Heaven, we pray...

4. That politicians, executives, public officials, avoid the way of the world in their decisions and creation of law, avoiding the idolatry of power, wealth, and fame, we pray...

5. That hierarchy, clergy, and religious complete their work with humility and efforts to heal the brokenness of social and economic practices, we pray...

6. That educators continue their education to understand the intention and values of just laws and constitutions that promote equality and safety for all citizens and non-citizens, we pray...

7. That our parish assist families lacking health care, adequate housing, living wage work, and social acceptance, we pray...

8. That those approaching the portal of death are supported by faith and sacrament. That those who died this week (list here) and the intentions of this Mass (list here) _____is (are) remembered in this Eucharist, we pray...

9. We approach God for personal needs and concerns of hand, mind, and heart: We bring before you the needs of our parish. (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with the financial gifts offered for ministries of our community, we pray...

Presider: Father, we join together in the church founded by your Son. Give direction to each member of this parish so we discover where we each fit as living stones of our parish community. That all coming here experience welcome and invitation to participate with their talents for the welfare of our church and civil communities. We ask this of you in the name of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Response: Amen.
