for Seventh Sunday of Easter

Presider: On this Sunday celebrating the Seventh Sunday of Easter and the return of Jesus to the Father, let’s ask God to open our hearts for next week’s outpouring of the Spirit.

1. That the completed mission of the Lord inflames the hearts, wills, and minds of Pope Francis, Bishop _____, Consecrated Religious, Clergy, and People of God. May they preach in action the Love and Truth modeled by the Lord in his healing, preaching, and contest with evil by his passion, death, and resurrection, we pray...

 2. That the work of Jesus informs the work of governments and politicians responsible for the good of their people. That authoritarianism give way to listening to the pain and suffering of the poor, of the mentally ill, and those living under threat of violence, we pray...

3. That the vitality and energy of Jesus’ public ministry be a source of grace and encouragement for those who suffer from mental illness, especially the ravages of bi-polar disease, of physical suffering, especially cancer, heart disease, and PTSD, we pray...

4. That the presence of the Risen Lord is a cleansing and welcoming presence to those completing their pilgrimage, we pray...

5. That the people of Ukraine, of Gaza, of Israel, of the Congo, of Sudan and other lands and regions suffering from war be healed and blessed by the Peace of the Lord we pray...

6. For the personal needs of those struggling with economic issues, social alienation, unfair denial of educational and health access, and contentious family relationships. May they discover the Lord’s presence in their struggles and be raised up from the impact of suffering to personal resurrection, we pray...

7. That all first Communicants always the healing, the nourishment, and unity with God of Communion, we pray...

Presider: Jesus, as you return to the Father, please lay these requests at the Father’s feet. Prepare our hearts and minds to receive with joy, the Holy Spirit as our advocate and guide. we pray... this in the name of Jesus who rules with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
